A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. The new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun.
There are three basic types of chemical peels:
This Medical grade VI peel deeply exfoliates skin to diminish sun damage, melismas. acne and signs of aging. Not your average chemical peel, the Vi Peel has the ability to dramatically improve your skin’s texture regardless of what skin type you have. Made with a unique blend of minerals, salicylic acid, vitamin C, phenol, retinoic acid and TCA, the Vi Peel Facial Peel provides amazing results to those with acne, acne scars, rosacea, melasma, sun damage and hyper pigmentation skin issues.
Following your Vi Peel treatment, it’s important to moisturize the skin and limit sun exposure. It’s essential to use an SPF 30 or higher on any treated areas every day.
The only days when exposure to the sun should be completely avoided are days three and four, which is when the skin is peeling. When those days pass, it’s fine to have some sun exposure, while continuing your skin care routine at home and practicing daily sun protection.
After about four days when your skin is done peeling, it will return to its normal PH levels and you can enjoy the final and dramatic difference in your skin. The skin will appear luminous and glowing and any hyper pigmentation issues will be improved or eliminated.
Tone and texture will also be greatly improved and you will have an overall youthful, more radiant appearance.
