HOW LONG DOES DYSPORT LAST?

After about a year of treatments, you can often go longer between treatments because it takes less effort for those muscles to relax. Dysport is FDA approved to last four months, but, like Botox, it may last as long as six months, depending on the individual

HOW LONG DOES DYSPORT TAKE TO WORK?

2-3 days

Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes. How long does it take Dysport to work? Though results vary, over half of users see improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows within 2-3 days

You may begin to see results within 48 to 72 hours. The optimum results will be at 7 to 14 days. 

The duration of Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport  will vary from patient to patient. Typically, Botox will last 4 months once a patient has had consistent treatment. At our Med spa in Phoenix, we tell our patients that the first treatment with Botox will last about 2 and a half months, the second time about 3 months and after that every 3.5 to 4.5 months. We recommend that you stay up on your injections for the best results at eliminating wrinkles.

Pre-Procedure Instruction for Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport:

Avoid the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ginko Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Green Tea, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A and E, and essential fatty acids for up to 1 week pre and post injection as they will increase your risk of bruising. 

Post-Procedure Instruction for Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport:

After treatment, you should remain upright for six hours. Keep your head as erect as possible during this time and avoid bending down. 

For six hours after botox injection, avoid:

• Rubbing the injection sites
• Exercising
• Wearing a hat or a headband

Don’t fly on airplane for 2 days after botox treatment. 

Exercise the injected area 10 times every 15 minutes for first hour by squinting the eyes, frowning, or wrinkling the forehead depending on the area injected. These exercises help work the Botox into the muscles to increase the effectiveness of treatment.

The botox/Jeuveau units needed for treatment varies depending on each patient. On average, forehead lines will need 20 units for temporary improvement of moderate to servere lines

Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you "had the work" done. The muscle activity that causes the lines is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.

If you don't continue treatments, the lines will gradually look like they did before treatment.

We advise that you refrain from exercising at least 6 hours post injections. We also ask that you don't massage the injection area to help avoid the medication from spreading further than expected.

The use of Botox during pregnancy or breast feeding hasn't been studied. Therefore, we recommend that you don't receive Botox if you are pregnant or breast feeding..

The injectable neurotoxin Jeuveau™ received FDA clearance on 2/1/2019 joining Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin on the wrinkle-treatment shelves. Its self-ascribed nickname #NEWTOX suggests what Jeuveau has to offer: a new Botox alternative, also made from botulinum toxin type A, that temporarily smoothes frown lines and other wrinkles around the eyes and brow.

+Botox was originally designed as a medication to treat eyelid muscle disorders, and has since been approved for a variety of therapeutic and cosmetic uses: treating frown lines, brow furrows, crow’s feet, excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis), and even migraines!

+Jeuveau was specifically developed for cosmetic use. It’s currently FDA approved only for treating glabellar lines (frown lines), and the staff at Endless Beauty Med Spa (EBMS)  and and our patients have been very pleased with their results. That said, given the similarities with Botox, cosmetic “off-label” use of Jeuveau to treat other areas of the face and neck is expected.

+Both Botox and Jeuveau last about 3 to 4 months for treating expression lines, and results take a couple of days to settle in.

+While Jeuveau is the new kid on the block, botulinum toxin type A has been used safely for aesthetic patients for 30 years—beginning with Botox!

+Both Botox and Jeuveau are injectable neurotoxin medications, made from botulinum toxin Type A, which arrives in our office in a dry form and is diluted by EBMS's Registered Nurses immediately before your treatment.

+However, there are minor differences in the manufacturing and purification processes for each product. We can’t tell you exactly what these differences are, as they are under lock and key with each manufacturer—but basically the minor differences result in Botox being a little more effective for certain patients, and Jeuveau a little more effective for others.
